Really??

Is it really the end of 2011??  Where oh where has the time gone?  I don't know what I have been doing and I am not too happy about it. It seems that as I get .... dare I say it... "older"  eeekkk... I said it..

Yeah, well as I get, you know.. I realize that all the things I wanted to do or said I was going to do, didn't happen
I know!  I'm totally bummed, I said I would update my little blog that no one reads but me, and I have not.  I told myself I would bake more, and I have not, I even told myself I would make a quilt and sew more, thats right..... I have not done a dang thing.

I will start making my goals for next year and do my best to follow through.  I know that sometimes it's difficult because I want to spend more time with the punks, I mean with the older one being 16 he's not going to even want to talk to me because thats just so not cool.  and the little one turning 5 next year, I don't know what I am going to do.

I do know that I WILL make that quilt, I WILL learn how to make macarons and I will take my kids on a trip they will remember.

So here is to making 2012 a year to remember!!

It sure has been a while..

A lot has been going on, the kitchen is almost completely done, all the hard work has been finished and we have just a few things left to do.  that's just touch up paint here and there, and putting in the base boards.

I think that all in all the kitchen looks really good, but that's because I LOVE the colors!  I may be alone in that but who cares I am the one in there most of the time anyway.  the colors are bright and cheery and that is what I wanted!

Just another working day

Well it's just another Monday, a day of waking up early and getting ready for the 8-5 job, taking the kiddo to pre-school and making sure the older one wakes up so he can walk to gramma's house.  I know I am just yapping to myself as I type this, but its ok.. sometimes I just need something to keep myself from going totally insane. 
We have been working hard on getting the kitchen redone, well the hubbs has been working his butt off. I try but some days are way better then others.  Today I seem to have a bit more energy then I did yesterday and the day before so thats a bonus.  I can maybe go home and get some drawers built and installed... maybe..
I am suppose to have a honey pot cake baked for a little one by the end of the week... but with out a kitchen that is starting to look impossible.. I will need to borrow a kitchen!  yikes! I think I can find a way to manage though ...

Carrot cake.. I have a few that I like but I think I will go for the fav.. I will post on that as soon as I get it made!

Kitchen update

So we have been working at this kitchen for a week, the hubbs had one accident (table saw vs left thumb) at least he still has the thumb, we've got the cabinets built and the range hood installed. I have to finish with the insides of the cabinets like the drawers and shelves, I'm excited, we picked out the countertop and have an idea of what I want to do with the backsplash... Yay!

kitchen redo's and chaos..

So we have been working on our kitchen and trying to get everything right... not a easy task let me tell you!
We had been looking at cabinets for a while but thought the job was not something we would be able to do for a long time, but alas... there was a nasty leak in the kitchen and there you go.. new kitchen...

So first it was flooring.. what were we going to do?  well we decided to go with something natural and nice, marmoliun it is we found ours at Fremont Tile and flooring.  here is where we got ours here.

Then cabinets... what to get.. well Ikea of course, its something we can do ourselves.. right??  or so we hope.

Oh Paint.. yeah... well thats a different story... I wanted something that pop'd and well I think I got that!  LOL... I will tell you that later.

Cake fun

So my great niece turned 3 and I was in charge of baking the cake, she wanted Kai Lan on the cake, I have to say it was a challenge but fun at the same time. 
I decided to bake a coconut cream pound cake with a Bavarian cream filling and a coconut butter cream frosting. it was good, but man was that a sweet cake!

looking at it I see some of the things I shouldn't have done, like the over lapping, but all in all... for a family function it was ok, and the kids didn't notice the imperfection's like I did... lol.. I love kids!

My happy new year and mini vacation

The family and I went to Fort Bragg, CA for a little get away... We left on new years eve and I have to say... Even though we didn't do anything exciting we had a fabulous new years just hanging out! We all stayed up eating finger foods, I made chocolate chip cookie dough dip, graham crackers, spinach dip with french bread, salami, and cookies of course! We drank sparkling cider and the hubs and I had a mini bottle if champagne.

Yesterday we rode the skunk train and the little one had a blast! He was good (more or less, it's what to expect from and excited 3 1/2 y/o...

This morning the noodle and I made breakfast, bacon, eggs, pancakes and orange wedges... Later we will wander around town and just relax!
It's been an awesome mini vaca so far!! Even if the other guys are totally lazy!! Lol
